Eye of Eden (10)

A number of Winged Light are present in Eden, one in the first area, and the rest just before and inside the tunnel of lights. These will help you to recover from any Winged Light you lost traversing Eden. They are available to collect before the «point of no return,» i.e. before you are locked into completing Eden. The Children of Light in Eye of Eden are sitting on the ground or looking at it, unlike the others scattered in the Realms of Sky.

The Season of Lightseekers is about to begin!

This latest season of content brings some very special surprises to the land of Sky including:

• MFi, PlayStation and Xbox controller support
• Six new spirits to meet all with new cosmetics to collect
• An umbrella to shelter you and your friends from the rain
• Multiplayer emotes like piggyback and double handed high five
• Friendship menu has grown to three tiers
• New instruments and music sheets
• New daily quests including a challenge to chase light across the world
• New spells that resets player height and recharge energy instantly

Changes & Improvements:

• Lighting a friend’s star in the constellation now sends a partial heart instead of candle
• Improved to block / unblock friend UI
• Updated account panel in the settings menu allowing you to link your game with your Game Center and / or Google account
• Most emotes and instruments can be used while running and piggybacking
• Crab can be heated up
• Quest spirit ball mechanics improved
• Heat and performance optimizations

Bugs:

• Fixed handheld dropping via poor network connection
• Gate, dark plants, creatures, moving platform networking stalls fixed
• Candle light pick up loss is fixed
• Occasional spirit collect failure fixed
• Numerous other bug fixes and small improvements

One more thing:

A secret new area to discover with others over time

• Recurring issues with heating up and flipping crabs, and collecting light from candles seem to be fixed
• Light collected from friends at Home goes towards collecting a heart instead of going towards forging a candle
• Small changes to the entrance to Daylight Prairie
• More cut-scenes in Daylight Prairie, such as in the Villages area, and in the Vault of Knowledge are now able to be skipped or avoided
• The in Daylight Prairie now requires the Butterfly Emote instead of the Pray emote to unlock the hidden surprise inside the puzzle area, making it easier to achieve
• Spirits now follow users’ avatars more closely when reaching the end of a level
• Candles removed from around the final shrine in Hidden Forest
• Patches of darkness seem to have been increased: some patches of darkness which used to appear on alternate days are now available each day (for the first day after this update all patches of darkness were available and players could collect double the amount of light from burning darkness that day)
• Players can now press an X in the top right-hand corner to exit off instruments and similar objects instead of having to press the left-hand movement button
• Players no longer revert to default Stance and Voice when opening the game and reloading it. Players will also see their friends in their chosen stance when you view them in the Home Space
• Stone/frozen spirit in the Lower Swamp/Graveyard area of Golden Wasteland used to always be visible but has been removed

Welcome to the Season of The Little Prince!

This season was the first collaborative season released by thatgamecompany, collaborating with the titular story of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince (French: Le Petit Prince). This season featured six prominent characters from the story as spirits, as well the Little Prince as the protagonist and The Rose as the Seasonal Guide. Befriend the royal visitor and discover lost connections.

A number of changes have been introduced with this season:

• All the Seasonal Spirits can be relived in the Starlight Desert, similar to Season of Dreams;
• An NPC (The Little Prince) was added, which acted like the player’s friend;
• The Seasonal Guide (The Rose) was not a spirit, but instead an object and character from an original story, and;
• Three were introduced, The Fox Backpack, The Little Prince Scarf Cape, and The Little Prince Asteroid Jacket.

Ascended Candles

Ascended Candles (also known as Prestige Candles) are collected only upon completion of the Eye of Eden (Spoiler Warning!), which is the last Realm (Note: page contains spoilers for the end of the game). It is recommended you play through this level wholly before accessing detailed information on how to acquire Ascended Candles.

When collected, these are used to purchase Wing Buffs, which increase your Cape Power like Winged Light. Detailed information about Winged Light is available either on the Collectibles page or the Winged Light (Spoiler Warning!). These two Collectibles stack together, which allows experienced players to acquire more Cape Energy. Purchasing Wing Buffs in the Spirit Shops also opens the ability to purchase previously inaccessible Cosmetics. Furthermore, Ascended Candles can be used to unlock high-level Friend Actions such as Warp. Ascended Candles are gained from going through Eye of Eden. The more children you save, the more ascended candles you receive in Orbit. Approximately, each child saved equals a quarter ascended candle.

They are now also used as Currency to buy Blessings/Spells at Forgotten Ark upon full restoration of the area. See the Blessings page for more.

Ice Rink

The Ice Rink area has seen a lot of changes over time. There is a hidden area beneath the ice that houses one Child of Light/Winged Light.

There are two exits from the Ice Rink, but one is blocked by a Spirit Gate that requires two Spirits from Valley to open. Since there is only one Spirit available to collect in the Ice Rink, new players are forced to follow the open route to the Sliding Race building.

There are two and one Ancestor Spirit in this area.

Confident Sightseer

From the middle platform in the centre of the ice rink, fly up to the left of the bird statue, the Ancestor Spirit is high up on the side of the mountain to the right. If you don’t have the cape power to reach this platform, you may also approach directly from the slide down into the Ice Rink. Simply slow down on the last section, and walk carefully along the edge to trigger the cutscene. You will find a ledge to the right of the slide’s end, which you can use to run towards the platform with the Spirit.

Valley of Triumph

There are four message candle spots in Valley of Triumph: 

• , the Message Candle Spot lies high above the actual Ice, on a snowy hill overlooking the area. This is also where the «Hands on hips Stance» Spirit is found
• Arch, this Message Candle Spot may be hard to spot without prior knowledge of its existence. It’s located on top of the arch leading into the Citadel 
• High above The Citadel, this Message Candle Spot can be found below the topmost ledge and the gazebo housing a Child of Light. It’s where the handstand Spirit finishes
• , on the right side of the seats near the exit into the Temple

Cape Color Guide

The colors of the capes change slightly depending on the brightness of the level. The below photos were captured at Home during a sunset. All of the colors lighten a bit in bright daylight. The colors also change when the cape is draining (e.g., if you stand in the rain in Forest). You can check the effects of different lightings on the capes in the chart below.

В отличие от предыдущих выражений, этот Дух собирался без несения света игроком. Вместо этого игрок должен был проходить через последовательные впечатления от Духа, когда они появлялись, следуя за ними в центр катка.

Золотая пустошь — Голос краба

Этот сезонный голос мог быть найден возле . Однако, как и в случае с прошлыми сезонными выражениями, найденными в Золотых Пустошах, это было, пожалуй, самое сложное для получения. • Player can’t tap on gates and gears when strangers are standing nearby.

Additional notes

Initially when released the update was reported by players to contain major graphical issues, though it was later confirmed to affect only Android users. A small hotfix build was released for Android (149650), while iOS remained on (149601).
Despite the difference in build numbers the ability to warp to friends on different platforms would not be affected.

Meet a Spirit in (a given Realm)	Visit any of the Spirits in the entry area of the given Realm	Stay near a spirit’s Gravestone in the given Realm and cause the spirit to pops out from the sky.

Friend Constellations

A player’s friend list resides in the Friend Constellations at the Constellation Table. Friends are stored as stars in these constellations – which may change appearance throughout the day. «Favorite» Friends will appear in the main Constellation in the center. There is a display limit of 72 for the constellations, but there is no limit to the number of friends you can make. For those with a full field of friends, the constellations can take up several pages in the Constellation Table, and not all friends are present. «Favoriting» a friend will usually lock them into the Friend Constellation. However, less active players cycle in and out.

In the Friend Constellation, the player can:

• Collect and send Heart Fragments/Gifts of Light
• Collect and send Hearts Gifts
• Teleport to the location of friends, that are online

To interact with friends via the Constellations, tap on the name of a friend to collect a Gift of Light and to view the Friend Menu as well as the avatar of a friend.

Hearts

A Heart appears next to a friend’s name if the player has received a Heart Gift from that friend. To collect the Heart Gift, tap the friend’s star and wait for their avatar to appear. Then, tap the Gift envelope in the menu.

Will there be an option to purchase a collector’s edition?

Switch does not get any exclusive features over Mobile apart from a special permanent Switch Starter Park on the eShop and in-game shop (see below for In-App purchases).

How do Candles bought through In-App work between mobile and Nintendo Switch for Sky?

Currency bought with In-App Purchases are not synced between Mobile and Switch

• If you bought 15 candles on your phone, those 15 candles will only stay on your phone, 15 candles will not appear on the Switch Console. Same with any other currency (Seasonal Candles, Regular Candles, Gift Passes)
• Adventure Pass functions will be synced (Be able to buy Pass-only cosmetics, Ultimate Rewards, etc.)
• Cosmetics bought from IAP will still be synced, but if the IAP contains currency, only the currency will not be synced.
• Candles obtained normally (Candle Runs, Daily Quests) will be synced.

Does Nintendo Switch version of Sky support STAR pins?

STAR Pins bought from ThatSkyShop still work on Switch Console. Place the tag underneath the Right Joystick in the ‘Ready to Scan STAR Tag’ menu. See above for a small video how to.

Can I play Sky with all Nintendo Switch controller types?

Nearly all Nintendo Switch controllers and configurations can be played on Sky, with the exception of a single Joy-Con.

How do I link my mobile Sky account to my Nintendo Switch account?

You can transfer progress from Mobile to Switch. Follow the steps in the above section «Linking a Mobile Sky Account to a Nintendo Switch Account».

Forgotten Ark

“	An enchanted pearl in the Golden Wasteland	”
–Forgotten Ark opening

A new area called «Forgotten Ark» was added in Golden Wasteland during the Season of Enchantment in April 2020. When you enter the first area, after you’ve plunged to the ground, explore the right-hand side of the map—the opposite side from where the Faint Spirit resides. There you will find a pier and a boat. Sit and meditate on the boat, and it will take you to the new area.

Besides the Ark, which is the first thing you see in this new area, there is a maze-like cave structure off to the right, and another cave structure straight ahead beyond the Ark. Both are filled with Dark Creatures (Crabs). Other smaller artefacts can also be found. Previously, the player could also collect candles from four hidden mushrooms, though these were removed in the 0.9.2 patch.

Winged Light

Two new Winged Light can be found in Forgotten Ark. One is easily found on the bow of the Ark. The other is inside a cave structure beyond it.

Meditation Shrines

There are days in which Meditation Shrines appear at select Message Candle Spot as part of the Daily Quests. To meditate at a Meditation Shrine, the player must go to the specified location and sit in the glowing circle of light for a few moments. A prompt will appear on the screen with a specific question. After leaving a message, the quest will be complete.

Miscellaneous/Neutral Creatures

Sky Children

Sky Children (also referred to as Descendants, Sky Kids, Avatars, and (for new players) Moths) are the titular playable characters in Sky: Children of the Light, and among the first Creatures/Characters that can be seen in the game. They can be decorated with Cosmetics, use props, light or burn certain things with candles, express themselves with Expressions, and most notably have the unique ability to fly and/or glide using their Wings/Capes.

Sky Children are humanoids with white hair and mitten-like hands. Their eyes always appear to be shut when exposed, yet seem to glow when putting on most masks. This leads many players to believe that their eyes open only when wearing masks. Their skin colour depends on the pants they are wearing; it can either be black, dark indigo or brown. Their skin appears to fade into a lighter colour from their lower legs to the tips of their feet. There is a light in their chests; if they pull out a candle, the light disappears.

Fish (Koi/Swordtails)

Based off real-life fish, these Creatures are first discovered by the player at Home inside the little pond where Traveling Spirits will appear. Later, they are seen in the body of water outside the , then in (summoned by the Blue Light), and are finally found floating around in one of the Secret Area’s rooms. They don’t have any practical function, but are still able to be interacted with. Normally, the fish swim in a group around the pool of water. They will swim away quickly and/or scatter when Sky Children approach or try to touch them.

Though the Message Candle Spot outside the Prairie Temple is named «The Koi Pond», it is the pond that is a traditional koi pond, not the fish. The fish resemble female swordtails, a tropical fresh water fish.

Oreo

Oreo himself

Oreo is a black-and-white dog that can only be summoned by seven players who possess the Butterfly Catcher Expression, in the space revealed by completing the in Daylight Prairie. All seven need to find a little Shrine on the right hand hill and use the Butterfly Catcher Expression (formerly Pray) to uncover a surprise. There are no rewards for a successful unlock. It is for entertainment purposes only; players are able to ride on Oreo’s back while he frolics around.

Oreo remains in the space until the player leaves, and has to be unlocked again by seven players to appear each time the player re-enters the space.

Note: if someone has already summoned Oreo in your server for instance, you will not be able to summon him yourself before leaving the area and returning.

Rhythm Bird

This mysterious bird-like creature was only seen in the Season of Rhythm cutscenes. It’s the ride of the Seasonal Spirits and Guide.

Mimi

In the Secret Area, after reliving a certain Spirit Memory, Mimi the cat can be found floating inside the office, riding upon a broomstick. Players can ride with her on her broom. Due to her color scheme, some players mistake Mimi for Oreo. Mimi is the pet of one of the art directors.

Glove ghost

In the Secret Area, on the right of the main office door, a strange «glove-shaped» ghost appear floating above a meditation shrine. No interaction is possible although it appears to be blinking its eyes from time to time.
