Material Traits[edit]
Depending on what Material is used in crafting will give the result different traits.
- Stonebound — The tool mines faster as it wears out, but does less damage.
- Reinforced — 10% chance per level of not losing durability on use.
- Jagged — The tool does more damage as it wears out, but mines more slowly.
- Writable — One extra modifier per piece.
- Slimy — Appears to have a chance to spawn slimes when you break a block with the tool.
- Thaumic — One extra modifier for using a single piece, two extra for using at least 3 pieces or by making it entirely from thaumium in the event the tool you make has 2 components (e.g. a shovel or a hatchet).
- Tasty — Has a chance to drop bacon.
Notes on Traitsedit
- The tool head determines the material needed to repair the tool.
- Any component can contribute a trait, regardless of whether or not it otherwise affects any of the statistics of the tool.
- Traits do not stack, except for Writable and Thaumic, as above.
- The durability of basic tools is determined by the head material, and is modified by the handle material. The binding has no effect on durability.
- The speed of basic tools is determined only by the head material.
- The durability and speed of advanced tools are affected by each part. Specific information on this can be found on the page.
- Specific information on weapon damage can be found on the page.

Overview
All Liquified Materials
The Smeltery is a multi-block structure used in the creation of higher-tier weapons and tools using metal and alloys. It is used to smelt ores, ingots or blocks of almost any metal as well as Obsidian. Alloys include Manyullyn, Bronze, Alumite, Aluminum Brass, and Pig Iron. But beware, if you or other mobs fall into the smeltery while it has liquid in, it causes damage, leaving a layer of blood in the smeltery. This can be used in creating Pig Iron, as well as some alloys added by ExtraTiC. Blood can also be poured into an empty Casting Table to make Congealed Blood. Blood can also be obtained by smelting Rotten Flesh or pushing mobs into the smeltery while it contains a molten liquid. Other liquids can also be obtained in this manner, Horses will give you glue, while Villagers provide Liquified Emerald which is also needed for Pig Iron, and Iron Golems provide Iron.
Молот;
Кирка;
Полуторный меч;
Рапира;
Лук;
Арбалет;

Crossbows[edit]
Crossbows are ranged weapons that fire bolts rather than arrows. While they can take longer to fire than a shortbow, crossbows are reloaded without holding a mouse button and a loaded crossbow can be stored, ready to fire later. Crossbow bolts also ignore an amount of armor based on their weight — the heavier the bolt, the greater the armor penetration.
Notes on Crossbow Constructionedit
- The crossbow body part serves as the weapon’s handle and applies the handle modifier to durability.
- The crossbow limb part serves as the weapon’s head and determines base durability, base damage, draw speed, and arrow speed.
- A fiery bowstring makes a crossbow reload slower (1.1x draw time) and fire with more force (1.2x arrow speed). It also adds Reinforced I.
- An enchanted bowstring makes a crossbow reload faster (0.8x draw time) and fire with slightly less force (0.9x arrow speed). It also adds another modification slot, though this currently displays as «Stonebound».

How to use
To use the Smeltery, you must first add some lava to the Seared Tank, Seared Window, or Seared Glass (Either manually by right-clicking with a bucket of Lava or piping it in using Buildcraft compatible pipes). This will heat up the interior of the Smeltery to allow you to process materials. Once your Smeltery has some lava powering it, right-click on the Smeltery Controller to bring up its GUI.
The left side of the GUI shows your processing slots, with 9 slots added for every layer of empty space inside your smeltery.
The middle of the GUI is the storage tank where the liquid metals are stored. This allows you to see how much liquid metal is inside the Smeltery, what kinds of metal, and in what order they will be drained (starting from the bottom). In 1.6+ versions of TiC, you can change the order by clicking on the desired liquid. (unsupported in 1.5 versions)
The bar along the right side of the GUI is how much lava the Smeltery currently has left. Having less lava means the ores heat up slower. No lava prevents any smelting from occurring.
To use the liquid metal, you must drain the liquid into a Casting Basin or a Casting Table. Place a Seared Faucet onto the small hole on a Smeltery Drain, and place a Casting Basin or Casting Table underneath the drain. To activate the Faucet, right-click on it. A Casting Basin will allow you to create blocks. Metal blocks require 9 ingots, but other smeltable materials, like Obsidian or Glass and Sand, require the same amount of material that was placed into the smeltery. The Casting Table will allow you to create casts out of Aluminum Brass or Gold to create other metal items using the casts you have previously made.
Metallic Parts
Minecraft Tutorials — Tinkers Construct — Smeltery-1399167009
Learn how to make a smeltery and metal tools in this tutorial video
For metallic materials, you will need to craft a fully functional Smeltery, and a Casting Table.
With your Smeltery set up, and a Casting Table beneath the Seared Faucet, you either need some Aluminum Brass or Gold in your smeltery to make parts. Aluminum Brass is made by melting Aluminum and Copper, in a 3:1 ratio. Every 3 Aluminum and 1 Copper will produce 4 ingots worth of Aluminum Brass.
Once you have some Aluminum Brass or Gold in your Smeltery (you need at least 1 ingot’s worth), place the part you crafted earlier on the Casting Table. Then right-click on the Faucet to pour out a Cast of your part. This Cast will be used for all the metallic materials, so don’t just throw it away after use.
To cast your new metallic part, place the Cast you poured onto an empty Casting Table. Melt down your metal in the Smeltery, then right click on the Faucet to pour it out over your cast. Keep in mind that your Cast has a material cost, the same as Patterns. A Cast with a cost of 3, will require 3 ingots worth of metal in the Smeltery. It will still pour out if you don’t have enough metal for the part. If this happens, you will either have to finish the part by melting more of the same material, pump it out using fluid pipes from another mod, or you’ll need to break the Casting Table and lose the material. If you end up with more than one molten material in your Smeltery at once, it will attempt to pour out the bottom one first. Merely click on the metal you want to drain from the control block menu and it will assign that metal to the bottom.
Note: Aluminum Brass, Tin, and Aluminum cannot be used to make tool parts.
