Pre-Lunar Events[]

After defeating the Golem you will want to prepare for the first two Vlitch Overlords as they will provide powerful weapons as well as the materials needed to create Girus armor, the best possible pre-Lunar Event armor for the four vanilla classes. You should make clearing the Martian Madness event your priority as you will want to get your hands on Cosmic Car Key for the Overlords. The Second Vlitch Overlord is a very difficult battle, but can be overturned easily if you come prepared with weapons that deal AoE splash damage such as Aerial Bane or Angelic Fan.

Sockpuppeting

Registered users are expected to use a single account for all editing under most circumstances. The use of more than one account by a single individual is known as «sockpuppeting».

A second account can be used in certain rare circumstances by longtime established, trusted users. Some valid reasons to use a second account may include:

• Technical testing
• Bot (automated) accounts
• Administrators who want to use non-admin accounts in less secure editing situations.

In those cases, it must be made absolutely clear that the accounts are operated by the same individual.

Individuals found to be operating multiple accounts, in an ongoing manner, for the purposes of mimicking different personas or the like, will have all of their associated accounts permanently banned.

The use of a registered account and an anonymous IP address (editing while logged out) may also be considered bannable sockpuppeting behavior, if this appears to be a deliberate attempt to fool others or circumvent rules. Occasional anonymous edits performed by an individual with a registered account, but with no ulterior motive, are not a problem.

Here’s another mod that adds a laundry list of new items and features. The Thorium mod includes over 2,000 new items, 11 bosses, and a new Aquatic Depths biome that sends you to the ocean floor to fight creepy marine enemies. Three new classes are included as well, including the Bard, Thrower, and Healer — all of which have useful features. For example, the Healer is used to ensure your teammates are always at full health, while the Thrower leans into long-range combat. This mod is similar to Calamity in that it adds a ton of new bosses, but they aren’t nearly as difficult, so maybe start with this one if you’re a newer player.

• Detox is a client modification that allows customization via the use of plugins.

• tAPI allows creation, management and playing of multiple mods at once. tAPI works with Terraria 1.

tModLoader

Before actually jumping into using mods, you’ll want to install tModLoader into the Steam version of Terraria. This will allow you to make and use mods created by the community. This free, open-source add-on lets you search for most mods available for the game, and it’s quite easy to use. Once you install it, you’ll find a few mod options from within Terraria, which allow you to browse many of the most popular mods. Do note that players must all have tModLoader installed in order to play with one another.

Previously, tModLoader was an unofficial mod and needed to be downloaded and added to your Steam files in order to use it. But as of the game’s 1.4 update, Re-Logic has embraced it and made it an official piece of DLC for players to enjoy — all from within Steam. The add-on is continuously supported and updated alongside the game, and since it’s open-source, anyone can contribute to it.
