Cannot place this block on terrain!

Q: Why can’t I place any blocks?

A: Blocks can only be placed on structures (like a Base or Small Vessel). If you don’t have a structure yet, then you need to make a starting block for the structure, like Base Starter. Once you have placed a starting block you can add more blocks to it.

Q: Why can’t I place a block on my base?

A: Some types of blocks cannot be placed on a Base. See for more details. Note that a few items cannot be placed on any structure, and must be placed directly on the ground. These are:

Removing Blocks (Creative)

Q: How can I remove blocks in creative mode?

A: While holding another block in your hand (currently equipped item,) place the block against the block you wish to remove and right click to remove it. Smaller blocks such as lights, elevators and the like can be more difficult to remove on the first try as the UI «targets» what the player looks at. With some practice, you will be a block surgeon in no time!

You can also use the Remove & Repair Tool (as in survival mode); pay attention to where the tool is pointing, as unintentional secondary damage can occur to other blocks. This is a known issue and should be fixed soon.

Background Story

The search for paradise is as old as humanity. Paradisiacal notions are abundant and cross-cultural. For example, in old Egyptian beliefs, the otherworld is Aaru, the reed-fields of ideal hunting and fishing grounds where the dead lived after judgment. For the Celts, it was the fortunate isle of Mag Mell. For the classical Greeks, the Elysian Fields were a land of plenty in which the heroic and righteous dead hoped to spend eternity. In ancient cosmologies, Empyrion was the place in the highest heaven beyond the firmament occupied by celestial beings made of pure light that are the source of creation. However, paradise has always remained a legend and in the not too distant future the Earth will be far from being a paradisiacal place…

By the end of the 24th century, world population had increased to over 18 billion exhausting most of the resources of the planet. Runaway climate change has caused extreme weather like hurricanes of unimaginable ferocity that brought widespread devastation. Global warming has reduced most of the polar ice and has induced a rise in sea levels by more than 30 meters submerging low-lying areas of the planet and flooding coastal cities.

The cascade of resulting changes had lead to political instability, riots and looting, war over resources, hundreds of millions of refugees, severe droughts, famines, mass extinctions of many species, and ecosystem collapse. According to the “United Council of Humanity” (UCH), the human race has less than 100 years before a complete breakdown of industrial civilization.

In the year 2402, a team of researchers discovered the wreck of a starship in the Antarctic, hidden up to this time under a thick cover of ice. Apparently, the ship belonged to a technologically highly advanced alien race and was powered by an unknown form of energy. Also a star map containing ancient symbols was recovered. Soon scientists realized that the symbols on the star map were similar to those used in ancient cosmologies to describe “Empyrion” – the land of plenty.

It took two decades until scientists began to understand the functioning of the alien energy cells and decrypt the map. Decryption, however, was only partially successful and the resulting coordinates remained ambiguous. The star map seemed to point to a location far away in the Andromeda Galaxy about 2.5 million light-years away.

Given the increasingly desperate situation on Earth, the UCH decided to focus the remaining resources on Earth on a unified effort to build a fleet of starships with the aim of establishing contact with the mysterious aliens and finding Empyrion. The hope of saving the Earth from apocalypse guided the endeavor, named “Operation Phoenix.” All ships were equipped with an alien energy cell to power their experimental hyperdrives – a technology never used before. The preparation and construction of the fleet took more than 50 years. Participants were selected at young age, contingent on showing superior genetic, cognitive and physical attributes. They received extensive combat training and broad engineering skills.

Finally, in 2473, the fleet of starships is ready and you are about to leave earth as one of its leading commanders on the frigate “MS Titan.” When the fleet disembarks on its journey to find Empyrion, mankind has united to attend the event. However, after the fleet has left the solar system, something goes terribly wrong…

You wake up in an escape pod, while roaring through the atmosphere of an unknown planet somewhere in Andromeda.

Полезные советы и хитрости

• Зажатая Shift при создании предмета поставит 10 предметов в очередь производства, зажатая Ctrl — 100.
• Кнопка F5 призовет дрона, с помощью которого очень удобно строить.
• Чтобы создать линию при строительстве, необходимо зажать ЛКМ и тянуть. С зажатым Ctrl линия превратится в плоскость.
• Инструмент выживания может работать в 3 режимах: Режим защиты(атака целей), утилизация(разрушение построек) и режим добычи. Переключаются режимы правой кнопкой мыши.

Any structure or vessel can be maintained via the Control Panel which can be accessed via P key (default) while on or in the structure or vessel. The Control Panel has following uses:

• Every Individual device can be seen and turned on or off via the control panel GUI, under the devices tab.
• Control Panel also has a statistics tab, which shows the mass, total power output, power consumption, total available fuel, time left till fuel gets empty, total oxygen available in the vessel etc.
• Control Panel shows if any device which is compulsory for the structure/vessel to function is missing.
• Structure/Vessel name and can be also changed via the control panel.
• Vessel control panels also show the damage (in %) of various devices.
• Color of the lights can be changed via the control panel.

NOTE: If the player opens the Control Panel aiming at any devices, it will be automatically selected when the control panel GUI open. This is very useful to change the color of a particular light or turn a particular device on or off.

Escape Pod

Q: Can I repair the Escape Pod?

A: No. This was possible in earlier versions of the game, but is no longer possible.

MSV Titan

Q: Can I repair the crashed Capital Vessel, «MSV Titan» on Akua?

A: You cannot make it fly, as it is classed as a Base rather than a Capital Vessel. However, you could turn it into your base by adding a Core (Player) block, or just salvage valuable parts of it using the Remove & Repair Tool. There are also many containers in it to loot.

Q: Can I dismantle the crashed Capital Vessel, «MSV Titan?»

A: Yes, you can. Though it took a hell of a beating as it plummeted from the heavens to it’s final resting place you may find a few good things to salvage that are worth your time and the cost of R&R Charges. It terms of salvaging priority for all things you may encounter, try to find more complex items such as cores, oxygen tanks, weapons, doors, lights, etc. By focusing on more complex items you will get more out of a salvage operation for your time and resources invested.

Capturing Structures

Q: How do I capture a station, outpost or non-player faction structure?

A: Find the Core (Alien) or Core (Player) block and destroy it, replacing it with your own factions’ core block.

Capital Vessel and Planets

Q: Is it possible to enter a planet with a Capital Vessel?
A: Yes, however fuel requirements will be much greater and some vessels may strain their bottom thrusters attempting to stay leveled in a high-gravity enviorment, so keep these factors present lest you scuttle your ship.

Renaming

Q: How can I rename my structure?

A: Open the Structure/Vessel Control Menu by pressing »P’. Sometimes you need to be inside the Vessel (cockpit) or Structure to change the name. You will see the Name Entry Field in the «Overall Status» section in the lower right hand corner of the window frame. Type the new name or edit the existing name and press to save it.

Thrusters and Top Speed

Q: If I add more Thrusters to my vessel, will this raise the top speed?

A: No. But you will reach top speed faster at the cost of more fuel. Currently, top speed in space is around 110 m/s and atmospheric flight is limited to around 60 m/s. The Hover Vessel is limited to 50 m/s.

Building Under Vessels

Q: How can I build below my Hover Vessel or Small Vessel?

A: At the moment, the best practice is to dig a hole or build something like a platform. Alternately, if you add a generator, fuel tank, cockpit and a few thrusters to your vessel, you can power it on and leave it hovering a few meters off the ground, allowing you to build underneath it. You will need thrusters in each direction (four for the hover vessel, small vessels need an additional thruster for lift) to keep it from drifting under power.

Building[]

All structure- and vessel-building starts with placing a starter block. There are unique starter blocks for each of the four types of base and vessels. There are many types of blocks which can used to build vehicles and structures. Some can be used in all kinds of construction and some can only be used in certain vehicles or structure types.
Blocks are placed by left-clicking while the desired block is equipped on the toolbar. While a block in the toolbar is selected it will show a ghost block where the is pointing. If the location is suitable for that block (i.e correct structure type, adequate space etc.) the ghost block will look like the block would after placement with a blue border around it, showing how much space it will occupy. If the location is invalid the block will turn red and have a red border around it.

If a player tries to place block while it is red an error message appears at top right corner with the reason for invalid placement.

Multiple blocks can be placed at once:

• To place a line of block : Left-Click and drag while equipped with the block
• To place a plane/floor of block : ctrl+ left-click and drag while equipped with the block

Blocks can be removed and components can be recovered by using the Multi Tool. You can also use the Survival Tool to salvage components as well, but it’s slower and unable to recover blocks.
Blocks can be painted using Color Tool or Color & Texture Tool.

Build Limit

NOTE: With introduction of Ownership block placement is restricted in few cases. See  for more details.

There is block limit for building. A structure or vessel can only be 250 block long in any axis and that limit calculated considering core at middle in every axis, i.e. maximum 125 block can be placed along the axis at any side of the core. Although if one side of an axis has 125 block other side can have only 124 block to include the core and keep the limit of 250 block. If the core relocated manually, the build limit still calculated from the original core position]]

Not all blocks can be placed in every structure/ Vessel. Some blocks can only found in creative mode and some can be crafted in survival.
